Description/Notes:

The Chief Academic Officer (CAO) oversees and monitors the development and delivery of curriculum and instructional programs aligned with district goals and supporting student achievement. The role requires a focus on instructional practices and culture at both the district and campus levels while ensuring that campus and central office teams execute strategic priorities to enhance student and school performance. The CAO serves on the Superintendent's Leadership Team and reports directly to the Superintendent.

The CAO is expected to model and promote a high standard of customer service, ensuring that all interactions with students, families, staff, and the community reflect professionalism, responsiveness, and a commitment to building meaningful and trusting relationships. In alignment with the district's mission and values, the CAO fosters a culture that prioritizes students first, inspires success through collaboration, and empowers all stakeholders through clear communication, integrity, and a relentless focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification/Experience:
-Master's degree in educational administration
-Texas Principal or Mid-Management Certification
-Certified in the T-TESS appraisal system
-Campus Principal experience (minimum 3 years) required
-Central Office experience preferred

Special Knowledge and Skills:
- Thorough knowledge of current curriculum, instruction, and assessment best practices.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex data to inform decision-making and drive improvement.
- In-depth knowledge of TEA regulations, state assessments, and accountability systems.
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and implement large-scale educational initiatives.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

Salary Range:

$120,000 - $145,000
