Job Description
Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) — AI Platform for Biopharma
Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid)
Stage: Series A
Type: Full-time
We are working with a San Francisco–based AI platform company helping biopharma teams make better R&D decisions—faster, with more confidence, and with measurable downstream impact. Fresh off their
Series A , they are building the commercial engine that will take them from early enterprise traction to repeatable scale.
We’re looking for a
Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) with the presence to lead strategic conversations with
Top-20 pharma and leading biotechs , and the operator mindset to turn those conversations into a
predictable, scalable revenue system .
This is a builder role: you’ll
win the first wave of large deals , define the playbook, and then
hire and mentor the team that scales it.
What you’ll own
Build the commercial architecture (and then run it). - Own revenue end-to-end across enterprise sales, partnerships, and the core commercial operating cadence (pipeline, forecasting, deal execution)
- Personally lead complex enterprise motions —multi-stakeholder, regulated environments, long cycles, board-level scrutiny;
- close multi-million-dollar platform/MSA agreements .
- Define and operationalize GTM : ICP, account strategy, messaging, pricing/packaging, sales stages, qualification, and a repeatable process from first meeting → expansion.
- Build a consulting / services partner network as a primary GTM lever (co-selling, referral models, and joint delivery where appropriate)
- Create a performance culture : hiring plan, coaching, enablement, and clear KPIs; evolve from player/coach to org leader as ARR scales.
- Represent the company externally with credibility—at executive briefings, industry forums, and strategic partner conversations—without hype, always anchored in value and evidence.
What success looks like (first 6–12 months)
- Close initial lighthouse wins with top-tier pharma/biotech accounts.
- Translate early wins into a repeatable enterprise sales motion (deal criteria, mutual action plans, procurement/legal paths, security narrative, ROI model).
- Launch a partner motion that consistently creates qualified pipeline (consulting partners, systems integrators, specialist boutiques).
- Establish “board-ready” forecasting and revenue operations hygiene : pipeline inspection, stage definitions, conversion metrics, and expansion strategy.
Who you are:
- Executive network (“warm Rolodex”) : C-level / SVP relationships in global biopharma—across R&D, commercial, and digital transformation buyers.
- Large-deal track record : repeated success closing multi-million-dollar enterprise contracts and MSAs in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Pricing & commercialization strength : experience defining pricing/packaging for AI/SaaS platforms in life sciences, including value-based approaches.
- Series A → scale operator : proven ability to start hands-on (foundational deals) and then build the team, process, and operating rhythm that scales.
- Scientific/technical literacy : you can credibly navigate the intersection of biology + data science + enterprise software —and translate it into business value.
Strong plus
- Experience selling into regulated, security-conscious environments (privacy, data governance, validation expectations).
- History of building partner-led pipeline and co-selling motions. (Built In)
