Overview
Behavioral Health RN (Inpatient Adult Psychiatric) – Clifton Springs, NY. Start date: April 13, 2026. Travel assignment, Weeks in duration. Nights, 3x12 shifts (1900-0730). Assigned to a 20-bed inpatient behavioral health unit with a daily census of approximately 18–20. This role requires NY RN licensure and BLS certification, and uses EPIC for charting. Weekly pay ranges from $1,771 to $1,855, with no guaranteed hours. Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible to apply. First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care to adult inpatients with behavioral health needs
- Administer and monitor medications, assess responses and adverse effects
- Implement de-escalation strategies, crisis intervention, and safety precautions for agitated or assaultive patients
- Apply seclusion and behavior management techniques per policy when appropriate, documenting interventions
- Conduct routine mental status assessments, monitor suicide risk, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team
- Maintain accurate, timely electronic medical records using the EPIC system; participate in care planning and rounds
- Respond to emergencies, document events, and communicate changes in patient status to the care team

Requirements
- Active New York RN license in hand (must be in possession to submit)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year RN experience; inpatient psychiatric experience strongly preferred; charge nursing experience not required
- Inpatient psychiatric nursing experience with adult population; knowledge of common diagnoses such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, psychosis, bipolar disorder, depression
- EPIC charting experience required; ability to learn and navigate the system efficiently
- Ability to work nights on a 3x12 schedule and to float to other units as needed
- Compliance considerations: background checks reviewed on a case-by-case basis; must meet facility policy and state regulations
